Communications – provides timely information about our events and items of interest through our website, a monthly emailed newsletter and individual messages promoting our events. Our mailing list includes all parents and SRVUSD staff as well as community members who have requested to be included.
Health & Wellness - partners with school district on Coordinated School Health Plan and the Food Advisory Committee,
Inclusion & Diversity - Meets bi-monthly with Inclusion & Diversity representatives from the units to explore ways to build stronger, more inclusive PTAs and school communities, that celebrate diversity and make PTA welcoming to all.
Leadership Development – trains and mentors unit PTA leaders.
Legislative Advocacy – meets monthly meeting with PTA unit legislative advocacy chairmen, hosts an annual Advocacy Day trip to Sacramento with Las Trampas Creek PTA Council in the Lamorinda area, lobbies our federal, state, and local legislators on issues affecting children and school funding, and conducts letter writing campaigns
Parent and Community Concerns - provides evening programs, the annual Parenting Conference on the 4th Saturday in February, and coordination with unit PTA Parent Education representatives and other community organizations.
Reflections Program- coordinates the National PTA's Reflections art recognition program by providing guidance to participating units, judges entries at the council level and forwards selections on to the 32nd District PTA, and hosts annual showcase event for all council entries.
Safety - represents PTA on the school district's Safety Committee and is one of several community partners in the Street Smarts program.
Scholarships & Awards - provides a $500 scholarship to one graduating senior from each of the 6 SRVUSD high schools and selects PTA Honorary Service Award recipients to honors individuals in our community for serving children and youth.
Sister School Program - coordinates the council-wide program in which each PTA unit provides support through its school community to a sister school in a disadvantaged area of the East Bay
Special Needs - provides monthly evening programs, helps plan the annual Parenting Conference, and provides resources for parents and staff. Committee meets monthly.
