Food Allergies are the Focus for the PTA Special Needs Committee’s May Evening Program

 

The new 20-minute documentary, Tastes Like Freedom, will be the backdrop for this evening discussion about food allergies on Wednesday, May 10th, 2017, 7-9pm in the Iron Horse Middle School Multipurpose Room.Tastes Like Freedom intimately portrays the social and emotional challenges of living with food allergies and the freedom this group of young people experienced at this unique camp experience.

 

After the film, a panel including teen campers, Louise Tippens - Camp Blue Spruce’s founder, Julie Bitler - a representative from the Sean N. Parker Center for Allergy & Asthma Research, Sahru Keiser - an associate of F.A.R.E, and other speakers will discuss how people and programs in our community are making a positive difference in the lives of our kids with food allergies. 

 

This event is free and open to the public, but please register to attend at the Eventbrite link below.  Students are welcome to attend too!
