Keynote Address

Our exciting keynote speaker will help us discuss an issue that is increasingly affecting thJulie Lythcott-Haims photoe future of our children. Julie Lythcott-Haims, former Dean of Freshman and Undergraduate Advising at Stanford University, and the author of How To Raise An Adult, will give us insights on how over-parenting harms children, their overstressed parents and society at large. Relevant to parents of toddlers as well as of twenty-somethings, and of special value to parents of tweens and teens, she will offer practical alternative parenting strategies to help our kids develop the resilience, resourcefulness and inner determination necessary for their success.

Julie Lythcott-Haims has spoken and written widely on the phenomenon of helicopter parenting, and her work has appeared on TEDx talks, in Forbes, the New York Times, Slate.com, Huffington Post, and the Chicago Tribune. She’s also appeared on Good Morning America, MSNBC, and KQED’s Forum.

There will be a book signing with Julie Lythcott-Haims after her keynote. Copies of How To Raise An Adult will be available for purchase on the day of the conference, or remember to bring your own copy for her to sign.
